Export your Linkly links, import into Flyn, and update your DNS, all in under 10 minutes

Last updated: April 2026

Pre-Migration Checklist

Complete these steps before starting the migration to ensure a smooth transition.

  • 1
Export all links from Linkly as CSV and verify the file
  • 2
Note any geo or device redirect rules and rotators to recreate
  • 3
Document your custom domain DNS settings (screenshot recommended)
  • 4
Ensure your Flyn account is on the right plan for your link volume
  • 5
Lower your DNS TTL to 60 seconds a day ahead to minimize switch-over time

Step 1: Export from Linkly

First, export your existing links from Linkly so you can import them into Flyn.

1

Log in to Linkly

Sign in at linklyhq.com and open your Links.

2

Open your links list

Find the links you want to move.

3

Export to CSV

Linkly supports CSV and JSON export. Export the file with the short link and destination.

4

Note any redirect rules

If links use geo or device redirect rules or rotators, note them so you can recreate them in Flyn routing.

Step 2: Import into Flyn

Upload your exported links into Flyn. The import wizard auto-maps columns and preserves your slugs.

1

Create a Flyn account

Sign up at flyn.to/signup, no credit card required. Free accounts can import up to 25 links.

2

Go to Dashboard > Import

Open the Flyn dashboard and click Import in the top navigation.

3

Upload your Linkly CSV

Drag and drop the export. Flyn maps the destination and slug columns automatically.

4

Review and confirm

Preview the links and click Import All. On Flyn your clicks are unlimited on Pro, so traffic never raises your bill.

Step 3: Domain & DNS Migration

Point your custom domain to Flyn so existing short links keep working seamlessly.

1

Find your current DNS record

In your registrar, locate the CNAME for your branded short domain used with Linkly.

2

Update the CNAME target

Point the CNAME to link.flyn.to, replacing the Linkly target.

3

Add your domain in Flyn

In Flyn go to Settings > Domains > Add Domain, enter your domain, and click Verify.

4

Wait for DNS propagation

Usually 5-30 minutes. Flyn shows a green checkmark once verified.

Post-Migration Verification

After completing the migration, work through this checklist to verify everything is working.

  • Verify 5-10 sample short links resolve correctly
  • Recreate geo and device routing rules in Flyn and test them
  • Confirm your custom domain shows a green checkmark in Flyn
  • Check that new clicks appear in Flyn analytics
  • Regenerate any QR codes you need (now without a watermark)
  • Keep your Linkly account active for 30 days as a safety net

Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to resolve them.

Links return 404 after migration

Allow up to 30 minutes for DNS. Verify the CNAME points to link.flyn.to and clear your cache.

Geo or device routing stopped working

Redirect rules do not transfer in a CSV. Recreate them in Flyn link settings under routing (geo and device targeting). It takes a minute per link.

Retargeting pixels are gone

Re-add your retargeting pixels in Flyn Pro (Meta, Google, TikTok + 9 more) and attach them to your links. Prefer cookieless? Use the UTM builder to build audiences from tagged traffic.

Analytics show zero clicks

Historical Linkly analytics do not transfer. Flyn counts from the moment your domain points to link.flyn.to.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to migrate from Linkly to Flyn?

Most migrations take 5-10 minutes plus DNS propagation for a custom domain (5-30 minutes).

Why move off Linkly?

Linkly meters tracked clicks on every plan, so your bill grows with traffic. Flyn is a flat $9 per month for unlimited clicks, so a viral link never raises your cost.

Do my geo and device redirect rules transfer?

Recreate them in Flyn: each link supports geo and device routing in its settings. It is a quick per-link setup.

Do my retargeting pixels transfer?

The pixel configs do not carry over in the import, but Flyn Pro natively supports retargeting pixels on links (Meta, Google, TikTok + 9 more), so just re-add them in Flyn. You can also use the built-in UTM builder for a cookieless approach.

Do my Linkly analytics transfer?

No, history stays in Linkly. New clicks track in Flyn, with no monthly click ceiling.

Is there a limit on how many links I can import?

Free accounts can import up to 25 links. Flyn Pro supports unlimited imports.
