What can the API do?
Flyn's REST API lets you create, update, delete, and track short links programmatically. Anything you would do to a link in the dashboard, you can do in code, including setting destinations and reading click data. Flyn also pushes six webhook events (link.click, link.create, link.update, link.delete, link.expired, and domain.verified), signs every delivery with HMAC-SHA256, and exposes the same account to AI assistants through an MCP server at www.flyn.to/mcp.
How do I authenticate?
Generate a Bearer API key in Settings and send it in the Authorization header of each request. Flyn keys are prefixed flyn_sk_live_, you can hold up to 5 active keys at once, and any of them can be revoked immediately from the dashboard. The same key works whether you call the REST endpoints directly, install the flyn-sdk TypeScript package, or connect an AI assistant over MCP. The MCP server is the one exception to the paid rule: assistants that support OAuth can connect to www.flyn.to/mcp by signing in instead, with no key at all, and that route works on the free plan.
Which webhook events are available?
You can subscribe to link.click, link.create, link.update, link.delete, link.expired, and domain.verified. Register a webhook URL, pick the events you want, and Flyn delivers each one to your endpoint in real time as it occurs.
Can my backend report conversions back to Flyn?
Yes, through the separate conversion tracking feature (Pro). Webhooks push link events out of Flyn to your endpoint; conversions travel the opposite way. A tracked link's redirect appends an unguessable click id to the destination, and your server (or an affiliate network's postback) sends that id back to Flyn's conversion endpoint with an optional value, event name, and transaction id. It is a plain HTTP call from any stack, and a repeated ping for the same click and event does not double count.
Is there an official SDK?
Yes. Flyn ships a first-class TypeScript SDK with typed methods for creating, updating, deleting, and tracking links, plus editor autocomplete. If you prefer, you can skip the SDK and call the RESTful API directly from any language.
Can I import or export links in bulk?
Yes. You can create and update links at scale through the API, and Flyn's CSV import accepts url, slug, title, and tags columns so an existing library moves across in one file. Export works the same way in reverse. A Chrome extension is also available for quick browser-based link management.
Is the API included in the free plan?
The REST API, TypeScript SDK, and webhooks are Pro features. Pro is 9 dollars per month billed annually or 12 dollars month to month, with a 249 dollar lifetime deal, and also unlocks unlimited links, advanced analytics, and more.
