What is a custom link preview?
It is the title, description, and image (the Open Graph card) that appears when your short link is shared on social platforms or in chat. Flyn lets you set all three on the link itself, so you control exactly how the share looks instead of inheriting the destination page's meta tags.
Can I upload my own image, or do I need a hosted URL?
Both work. You can point the preview at an existing image URL, or upload an image directly to the link. Uploading is useful when you want a purpose-made preview image and do not already have one hosted somewhere.
Does this work even if I do not own the destination page?
Yes. That is one of the main reasons to use it. The preview lives on your Flyn short link, not on the destination, so you can set a clean, on-brand card even when you are linking to a page whose meta tags you cannot edit.
Will the preview look the same on every platform?
The preview is attached to your short link, so the same title, description, and image are served wherever the link is shared. Each platform renders cards with its own layout and cropping, but the underlying content it reads is the one you set.
Is custom link previews really free?

Why did my preview not update when I re-shared the link?
Social platforms and chat apps cache previews, so an older card can linger after you change it. Set your preview before you share, and if you edit it afterward, use the platform's own link or card debugging tool to refresh its cache.
